New York City students join worldwide walkout to demand climate change action

WASHINGTON SQUARE PARK, Manhattan — Students around the world skipped classes Friday in walkout to demand action combating climate change. From the South Pacific to the edge of the Arctic Circle, students were mobilized by word of mouth and social media to protest what they see as the failures by their governments to take tough action against a global threat.
